About

Peter at King's ChurchBorn in 1969 in Paignton, Devon, one time atheist Peter Cavanna grew up wanting to work in the world of entertainment, staging his own comedy revue shows in Torquay by the age of eighteen. Stumbling somewhat accidentally into an evangelistic meeting being held in the same theatre, Peter heard the Gospel of Jesus and was powerfully converted to Christianity overnight.

In February 1989, he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit under the ministry of evangelist George Miller and was called into full time Christian service. After spending twelve months working for the local church, tasting every aspect of the ministry, he arrived for training at Bible College.  Within a few months, he was healed from epilepsy, which had been troubling him since his teenage years. During his time at the college, he began to develop the prophetic gift, ministering especially to the student body and churches in the locality.

Returning to Devon in 1994, Peter opened a Saturday morning Bible class and ran a youth club on Friday evenings, a group that experienced a wonderful outpouring of the Holy Spirit. In 1995, he joined a church planting team in Torquay and served as an Assistant Pastor for five years at Riviera Life Church. Peter arrived in Cambridge in the autumn of 2000 and began developing what became King’s Church – a thriving Christian fellowship noted for strong preaching, worship and spiritual phenomena. The church became a well for healing and prophecy, continuing strongly to this day.

Mattersey HallAfter thirteen years at King’s Church, Peter Cavanna appointed new leaders and relocated to Mattersey Hall for five years, where he taught Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies, Understanding and Communicating the Bible, New Testament and Christian Doctrine, plus serving as the Pentecostal Archivist. He is currently itinerating and spending time on his doctoral studies, exploring the Spirit’s ministry in 1 Corinthians 14. Departing from Mattersey, some exciting and unexpected plans for 2019 are already in place: to be announced shortly!
